We all spend hours searching the internet every day. Whether it’s hunting down the cheapest takeaway, looking for reviews on a new phone, or comparing prices on Amazon, we’re constantly clicking around.

So when I came across Qmee, a free browser add-on that pays you to do what you’re already doing, I had to give it a go, and I have been using it ever since.

What is Qmee?

Qmee is a simple extension you add to your browser (it works on Chrome, Firefox, Edge and others). Once it’s set up, it shows you a few extra results when you search on sites like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Amazon, and eBay.

The difference is that these results come with a small cash reward, usually around 5p to 20p. Click one, and that money goes straight into your Qmee account. No faff, no waiting around.

And here’s the big bonus: you don’t need to buy anything. Just click, earn, and carry on.

Skint Dad top tip:

I always say: if it takes seconds and costs nothing, why not?

You’re already searching the internet. Adding Qmee means you’re turning those everyday clicks into small change — and small change adds up.

“The trick with apps like Qmee is not to overthink it. You’re not going to get rich, but you can pick up a steady drip of extra money with zero effort.” – Skint Dad

How to start

  1. Head to the Qmee website and sign up.
  2. Install the browser extension.
  3. Make a couple of searches on Google or Amazon and see if a Qmee result pops up.
  4. Click one, watch the pennies drop in, and cash out straight to PayPal.

That’s it. No invite code needed, no messing around.

Surveys and offers

On top of search rewards, Qmee also gives you the option to do surveys and try out offers. This is where you can make a bit more money if you’ve got time. I’ve found some surveys can be 50p, others £1 or more, and they don’t take long.

Surveys aren’t for everyone, but if you’re sat watching TV in the evening, it’s an easy way to top up.

Cashing out

The best thing about Qmee, and the reason I rate it, is that there’s no minimum cash out limit. Earn 20p? You can send 20p straight to your PayPal. That means you can test it’s working right away without having to build up £5 or £10 like you do with other apps.

You can also donate your earnings to charity if you prefer.

Is Qmee safe?

Yes. Qmee has been around for years and is well-known. I’ve used it myself without issue.

It doesn’t take over your browser or spam you, it just adds a couple of sponsored results when you’re searching.

How much can you really make?

Let’s be clear: Qmee isn’t going to replace a wage. It’s a side earner, a way to make a few extra quid here and there. Over a month, if you’re doing regular searches and the odd survey, you could easily build up £5–£15 without much effort.

That’s a takeaway covered, or a couple of pints down the pub (depending on whether you live in the north or south!)

It’s also not your only option! There are other ways to get paid to search the internet.

Or if you prefer, you can use it to get gift cards. And there are even more options to earn free Amazon gift cards.
