Revolut is a banking app with over 40 million users. They have launched a new loyalty scheme.

Revolut’s loyalty scheme, RevPoints, allows you to earn points from your everyday spending.

For every £1 you send using your card or contactless, you earn 1 point.

You save your points and can exchange them for air miles or use them towards getaways and hotel stays.

There is also a spare change option where you can earn extra loyalty points and get 2x points if you buy certain Revolut products.

Top tip:

Personally, I wouldn’t turn on Spare Change. You are literally buying points. I suppose it’s worth it if you want the air miles, but I never use them!

Spare Change with RevPoints works by rounding up your spending. If you buy something for £1.10, they will round up your spending to the next whole pound — so 90p.

That equates to 45 RevPoints earned, but you have spent 90p.

I love round up apps, but it’s my money going into actual savings, not changing them for loyalty points (which expire after 3 years).

How much are RevPoints worth?

After collecting 100 points (so spending £10), you earn enough to convert to 100 air miles – so £1 spent is the same as 1 mile.

For stays and experiences, 5,000 points can be used for £100 off.

There are also shops and brands in Revolut where you can save at the checkout. For example, 5,400 points gets you £26 off.

What does it look like in actual spending?

Revolut has said that if you spend £2,000 a month on your Revolut card, you can earn:

  • Up to 24,00 miles on frequent flyer miles, or
  • up to £480 off stays, or
  • up to £192 off experiences

This is based on an Ultra plan.

Welcome bonus

As it’s just launched, they are running a welcome bonus offer.

You can earn 3,000 points, which is 3,000 worth of air miles or £60 towards a hotel stay.

To earn points, you must opt in and make 150 eligible card transactions in the first three months.

That’s a fair amount, really. Do you make 50 transactions a month?! I know I don’t!

There are also other ways to get bonus points, including setting up recurring payments, setting a budget goal, referring friends, donating money, or changing or making an international transfer.
