Asda’s campaign gives customers a simple and easy way to support their local primary schools.

It’s almost like donating to charity, without having to spend any extra money (btw, we’ve got loads more ideas on how to donate to charity when you’re skint).

By doing your regular shopping at Asda, you can now help raise money for your chosen school, all without spending an extra penny.

How the campaign works

From now until 30 November 2024, Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of any shop to the primary school you select through the Asda Rewards app.

It’s a straightforward way to give back to your community.

However, you must manually opt in via the app and choose which school you want to give to.

If you don’t have a school in mind, they will still give 0.5% of your shop through Parentkind.

Each school starts off with a £50 donation from Asda, and for every customer who chooses that school, an additional £1 is added to their fund.

This initiative is expected to make a big difference. Asda projects that the campaign will raise around £7.5 million for UK primary schools.

That’s money that can be used for much-needed resources, improvements, and activities that can make a real difference in children’s lives.

A unique way to give back

This campaign stands out as the first of its kind in the loyalty market.

It’s designed so that you can support your chosen school without affecting your own Cashpot earnings, making it a win-win for everyone involved.

You keep earning your rewards while also giving back to the community.

Asda Rewards

Asda Rewards, which was launched in August 2022, has quickly become popular with over six million weekly users.

Together, customers have earned over £525 million in Cashpots, showing just how much people love getting something back when they shop.

More ways to save with Asda Rewards

Asda offers several other rewards programmes that can help families save even more.

For example, the Christmas Saver helps you put away money for the festive season, while the Asda Baby Club offers 50p extra when you spend £5 on baby products.

Plus, there’s a 5% cashback for Blue Light Card holders, which now includes teachers.
